Cisco Solutions
"An intelligent network improves the efficiency of a whole organisation allowing it to focus on core business goals and objectives".
Overview
With our professional services and support, G-Computing Services can help you achieve a real return on investment and greater control and flexibility of your overall IT infrastructure. As a Cisco Partner we specialise in network design and implementation from single site Local Area Networks (LAN) to linking multiple LANs via a Wide Area Network (WAN).
Routing and Switching
Create a strong, secure network foundation that grows with your business.
Your IT network is the core of your communication and data systems. A secure network helps your business run smoothly and ensures your data and communications are secure and easily available. Effective switching and routing of your network traffic will ensure the flow of information and data around your network is functioning at peak performance, optimising the capacity and availability. Our team of highly experienced engineers deliver proven technologies that provide consistent efficiency and robustness across a network environment.
From the entry level 800 series through to the 7200 series, G-Computing Services has the expertise in the deployment and specific configurations of all Cisco routers and switches.
Our core technologies include:
VLAN – Virtual Local Area Network
A group of hosts with a common set of requirements that communicate as if they were attached to the same physical wire, regardless of their physical location. A VLAN has the same attributes as a physical LAN, but allows for end stations to be grouped together even if they are not located on the same LAN segment.
OSPF – Open Shortest Path First
A router protocol used within larger autonomous system networks in preference to the Routing Information Protocol (RIP), an older routing protocol that is installed in many of today's corporate networks.
BGP – Boarder Gateway Protocol
A protocol for exchanging routing information between gateway hosts (each with its own router) within a network, ensuring the best available route is chosen. BGP is often the protocol used between gateway hosts on the Internet. The routing table contains a list of known routers the addresses they can reach, and a cost metric associated with the path to each router.
VPNs – Virtual Private Network
A VPN is a network that uses a public telecommunication infrastructure, such as the Internet, to provide remote offices or individual users with secure access to their company’s network. A VPN provides the same capabilities as a system of owned or leased lines that can only be used by one organisation, but at a much lower cost. For more information see VPNs – Virtual Private Networks below.
HSRP – Hot Standby Routing Protocol
HSRP is a Cisco proprietary redundancy protocol for establishing a fault-tolerant default gateway.
QoS – Quality of Service
On the Internet and in other networks, QoS is the idea that transmission rates, error rates and other characteristics can be measured, improved and, to some extent, guaranteed in advance. QoS is particularly important for the continuous transmission of high-bandwidth voice, video and multimedia information.
RIP – Routing Information Protocol
RIP is a widely-used protocol for managing router information within a self-contained network such as a corporate local area network (LAN) or an interconnected group of such LANs.
VPNs - Virtual Private Networks
Share information and communicate across multiple offices and remote home-workers within a secure environment.
Whether you need site to site connectivity or secure remote worldwide access, we can configure and implement the right solution for your business.
VPNs provide a reliable way to communicate and share information across multiple site locations - no matter how many you have. Your IT infrastructure can be unified, enabling each site to access and operate your business systems in real time.
VPNs secure the transfer of data over networks and address the security issues concerning companies today. To ensure your business is protected a combination of security technologies must be considered such as firewalls, virus protection, intrusion protection, authentication management and wireless security.

Security
Integrated solutions protect your information, customers and operations.
The ever increasing threat of network breach via the Internet and email puts IT security at the top of most companies' concerns. To protect your business against information threat, data theft, virus outbreaks and application abuse you need to take security precautions.
As a Cisco Partner, G-Computing Services can help to fully protect your business against both internal and external security threats with integrated solutions such as Firewalls, Virus Protection, Intrusion Protection, Authentication Management, Wireless security and Legislation (compliance).
Cisco ASA firewall – Adaptive Security Appliances, provides intelligent threat defence and secure communication services.
Cisco PIX firewall hardware and software delivers full firewall protection and IP Security (IPSec) VPN capabilities, allowing you to protect your internal network from outside intrusions.
We can specify, design and implement resilient network protection to stop attacks before they impact on your business operation. For more information contact us.
Wired and Wireless
Stay connected in the office and on the road with secure mobile access.
Keep your employees connected using both traditional wire cable and wireless networks. Fast, secure and reliable wired and wireless networking gives employees the tools they need to be more productive and responsive, at the office and on the road.
